DOES ACUPUNCTURE HURT?

We know what you're thinking, and acupuncture DOES NOT feel like a shot. When the needles are inserted, you may feel a slight tingling sensation if anything at all. Many people find the treatments relaxing and even fall asleep!

WHAT WILL MY FIRST SESSION BE LIKE?

Your first session will include a thorough consultation, so that both you and our practitioners can decide if and how acupuncture & integrative medicine will help you reach your health goals. Once a treatment plan has been established, the first session does typically include acupuncture. This first appointment takes approximately one and a half to two hours.

HOW MUCH DOES ACUPUNCTURE COST?

The cost of your visit varies based on what is done that day.

We offer auricular acupuncture, (acupuncture on the ear) for things such as stress reduction, to relieve headaches and migraines, and to help people quit smoking. Each session is 30 minutes long and it costs an affordable $30.

A full acupuncture session ranges from $80-$130, depending on how many sets you receive. The first set costs $80, the second set costs $50. If you receive 1 set of acupuncture, and a tui na massage or gua sha, then your visit would cost $120. Any cupping, athletic taping, or extra integrative technique is done in conjunction with the acupuncture, and is included in the $80-$130 cost.

Herbal supplements are sold separately.

INSURANCE?

Please contact your insurance provider prior to your first visit and ask if acupuncture is a covered service. We do bill insurance but unfortunately most insurances do not cover acupuncture.

HOW LONG ARE THE SESSIONS?

An acupuncture session can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on how many rounds of acupuncture you receive, what type of acupuncture you receive, and if other modalities such as massage or cupping are being included. Every person is different, and it depends on their specific situation.
